He has thirty years of experience with
the Agricultural University and the State Department of Agriculture. He
was the Head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering in Mahatma Phule
Krishi Vidyapeeth and also advisor to the Govt. of Maharashtra for agricultural
education and Research. Dr. Sawant was in the USA for six years during
which he worked with Keller Bliesner Engineering (Utah), Computer Assisted
Development Inc. (Colorade) and Harza Engineering (Chicago).
He is considered among the pioneers
in the field of micro irrigation in India. As the President (Tech.) of
NTB Bowsmith Irrigation Ltd. He played major role in promotion of micro
irrigation in India. In his capacity as the Director (Tech.) of Adventure
Group of Companies, he formulated and executed several Agro-horticultural
and forest plantation projects.
