| Name of the diesease | Symptoms | Control Measures |
| POWDERY MILDEW | The disease appears during the months of June and July in Bangalore area. It is characterised by white mealy growth on the young growing leaves which turn pale and distorted. On fruits, the white growth is observed at all stages of its development. It causes a brown discolouration and shedding of young fruits. The mature fruits, if attacked turn rusty.
| 1. The disease is controlled by spraying of Wettable Sulphur @ 0.2per cent or Karathane @ 0.1% at fortnightly intervals. The first spray should be given before the disease appearance.

| BLACK LEAF SPOT | Leaf spot appears as foliar sooty tuft like circular to irregular black spot. When infection advances, it covers a large area on the lower surface of the leaves and the upper leaf surface shows brownish discolouration.
| Spraying of Topsin M or Bavistin @ 0.1 per cent at 20 days intervals have been found to be quite effective. |

| FRUIT CANKER |
: It produces numerous circular to raised dark coloured corky cankerous growths on the fruits. Infected fruits are defarmed give a chickenpox appearance, do not ripe and are not palatable. | Dithane Z-78 (0.2%) or Difolatan (0.2%) at monthly intervals during July to October give good control. |
| RUST | The disease appears as green island spots underneath of which brown coloured rust sorri are seen. The rest of the leaf turns yellow and defoliation takes place. | This disease can be controlled by the sprays of Dithane M-45 or Daconil @ 0.2% at fortnightly intervals.
